The Rummerfield Family’s Story
"In 2022 our son was involved in a serious UTV accident and was airlifted to Toronto Sick Kids. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted into ICU where he faced a long road to recovery. We were so fortunate to receive support from the Steven Young Trust. Their generosity provided us with financial support allowing us to focus on what mattered most, our son’s recovery. Providing us a hotel stay within walking distance to the hospital, and an adjustable bed and mattress for his recovery at home to help make him comfortable and assist with pain management. The kindness and compassion shown is something our family will never forget and will be forever grateful."

$175K Donation to McMaster Hospital
The Steven Young Trust recently donated $175,000 to McMaster Children’s Hospital, marking the largest single donation in its 35-year history. Of this contribution, $150,000 will support the development of a new Pediatric Oncology-Pharmacy Satellite Chemotherapy Suite, designed to streamline care by allowing patients to receive consultations, testing, and chemotherapy in one location, significantly reducing wait times. The remaining $25,000 will go toward the hospital’s Patient Assistance Fund, which helps families with short-term expenses such as transportation, parking, and meals while their children are in care.

Steven Young Trust gives back
Roland Craig, Dan Edge, Kathy Young, Marci Shea-Perri of Camp Trillium, as well as community members Sandra Young, Randy Pierson, Jocelyne Fleming and Carrie Arnold came together as the Steven Young Trust presented a vehicle purchased through Winegard Motors to Camp Trillium. The Steven Young Trust has been in existence since 1989 as a registered charity in memory of Steven Young, a Caledonia adolescent who died of cancer. The vehicle being given replaces a van the group donated to Camp Trillium about 20 years ago.
